Caribbean Island Hotel

The location was perfect, right in the middle of everything along the beach. There are plenty of places to eat either way you go when you exit, and lots of shops all around. Everything was no more than a 10-minute walk. We could walk to the beach, then go about three minutes down the sidewalk to get a cabana, a lounger, and three chairs for just 50,000 pesos for the whole day. The room was a good size, with a kitchen, two very comfortable beds, a good TV, and AC that cooled us right down as soon as we came in from outside. I’d stay again, and it was definitely worth the money. A few kitchen details were frustrating, though. There were no pot holders, and one of the pots with metal handles burned my finger. No idea why that pot even exists, lol. There were no paper towels or napkins, so think ahead and get some. The outlets weren’t great, and we had some trouble with phone chargers. The coffee maker cord wouldn’t reach the outlet by the fridge, so I had to set it on the kitchen counter with the cord stretched across the stove. That meant I couldn’t cook until the coffee was done.

Davi was the only person who was nice to us. The location is great, but the people weren't friendly. We didn't have a microwave in our room, and when we asked to heat something up, they said none was available, even though I could see one right in front of me. If you can, make this your last choice.

The bed creaked so much that even a small movement would wake you. I ended up putting the mattress on the floor just to get a decent night's sleep. The showers barely worked, and for a few days we had no hot water. The staff were friendly, but I wouldn't recommend staying here. Our ocean-view room came with constant, very loud street noise until 2-3 AM, so sleeping was impossible.

For the same price, my friends found a much nicer place, though their room had no windows. This hotel is a bit old, the beds are quite hard, and there's not much room in the bedroom for your things. The bathroom has the same space issue, plus a loud fan that seemed to hang a few centimetres below the ceiling. Still, there was warm water, a “balcony” for drying clothes, and outdoor showers by the entrance after the beach. It was decent and I didn't mind it, but I'd pick somewhere else next time. You can definitely find better for the price.
