Sea Colors Hotel

The location wasn’t bad, just about a five-minute walk from the beach, but the hotel felt far too expensive for its condition. Our room was tiny, there wasn’t enough space for our bags, and the WiFi was neither reliable nor fast. Most of the time we couldn’t get enough hot water. The TV was old-fashioned, so there was no way to watch Netflix.

I’d avoid this place. My confirmation clearly showed I’d paid for a room with a balcony, but they put me in one without any windows. It felt like a prison and smelled strongly of cheap paint. When I went downstairs to ask for the room I’d booked or a refund, they said there was nothing they could do and blamed the booking website for selling the balcony room. I told them I’d paid for something they weren’t providing. The manager was just as rude, and they refused to refund me. While I waited in the lobby to book somewhere else, three other people had the same problem: they’d booked rooms with balconies and got windowless rooms instead. They accepted it, but I left to stay elsewhere. I also told the staff I didn’t see how they expected to stay in business with this kind of fraud and bad service. I strongly recommend avoiding this place.

Our room was changed after we booked through Hotels.com. The site showed just one room available, with two queen beds, but our booking was changed to one queen bed. They acknowledged it was supposed to be two beds, and the manager was very nice about it. We stayed in a two-bed room for four days, then moved to a one-bed room for the remaining nights. The service and cleanliness were great. Just don’t book through Epidia or Hotels.com.

This is a huge rip-off, especially since it’s one of the most expensive places to stay in San Andres. The whole hotel is filthy and ugly, the floors and hallways look as if they haven’t been cleaned in ages, and the way guests are treated is disgusting. When we arrived, the receptionist seemed high and gave us a filthy room with spiders and hair everywhere. He first said there were no cleaner rooms, then showed us one that was much smaller, even dirtier, and had no sheets. We asked for our money back. He called his boss, who told us to come back in the morning for the refund. When we returned, the manager/owner refused, said he wasn’t responsible for the previous night, and left us waiting for hours. When he came back, he offered another room that he said was cleaner, but said he couldn’t do anything about the night before. The photos show the room he gave us as 'compensation'.
