AB Del Sol Campestre

The staff were the highlight for me, friendly, welcoming, diligent, and always ready to help with a smile. The grounds were pleasant too, with neatly cut grass, nice pools, and comfy hammocks. We saw ponies, and there was a bar, though neither seemed to be available. I also heard about a spa, but didn't try it. There were no towels at the pool, and the water looked a little dark with leaves fallen from the trees. The buffet meals were decent, but it wasn't all-you-can-eat. You could put whatever you wanted on one plate, but couldn't go back for more. Most of the food was simple, with only a couple of drink choices, so I'd keep expectations modest. The room was the real letdown. It had a nice location and potential, but felt neglected: cracked walls, a light that didn't work, a broken mini fridge, and a TV smaller than my iPad. The bathroom was worse. Its door wouldn't stay shut, so we had to rig up a string, the sink was broken, the toilet didn't flush properly, the water pressure was poor, and there was no hot water. The bedsheets, towels, and blankets also felt pretty cheap. For a place that isn't cheap, I expected much better rooms. I'm not sure I'd return. I loved the staff and public areas, but our room wasn't good.

It was a nice experience, though there was no hot water. The massage felt more like a body rub.
