GHL Hotel Grand Villavicencio

The rooftop pool and jacuzzi were a real highlight, with awesome views over Villavicencio. The hotel itself was comfortable and well run, and the staff were friendly and quick to help throughout. When we arrived, we were welcomed right away, and a bellboy handled our luggage and showed us to our room, making check-in feel smooth. Our room on the 9th floor was spacious, modern, bright, and spotless. It was fresh when we arrived, with the AC already on, and the bed was very comfortable. The minibar was a nice touch. We had breakfast but skipped the restaurant. Breakfast was good, though a bit limited: the pancakes ran out early, and there were no arepas, surprisingly. There was plenty of fruit, plus cereals and breads. The hotel is on the pricey side, so I'd look for offers or discounts if possible. Reception could also use more current information, since they were promoting a tour venue that had already closed. At checkout, having to get a paper saying we'd paid and were allowed to leave felt outdated. Trust should go both ways. There is 24/7 security, which was reassuring. The area is lively, with malls, restaurants, stores, parks, and supermarkets nearby. There's plenty to do around this busy zone, though it's good to stay aware of the broader country safety situation.
