Updating this after my relatives stayed here more recently: the owners are still welcoming, friendly, and pleasant. It’s a comfortable place close to the airport. I stayed nearly four years ago before flying back to the UK. The owners arranged an airport drop-off, and it was a great place to spend a couple of days before traveling from San Jose to Gatwick.

The hosts are very friendly and helpful, and the wifi and breakfast were great. It’s clean and feels safe, with a gate and a small family community. The gardens are beautiful and give the place a little sanctuary feel amid the busy city. It’s relatively quiet, too, and only about a $5 cab ride from the airport. I’ll stay here whenever I’m in the area.

Max and Mireya were wonderful hosts. We stayed the night before flying home, and they took us to the airport whenever we needed, even at an early hour. They also had a tasty breakfast ready for us at 5 in the morning. The apartment was clean and comfortable. The beds were a little hard and worn, but we’d stay here again.

Max and Mireya were kind and helpful, and the gated community made us feel safe. We stayed in a spacious, clean cabin on their property, with comfortable beds and a lovely big yard we were free to explore. We paid an extra $6 US for breakfast, and it was worth it, probably the best we had in CR. We had a wonderful stay at Rio Segundo Studio and hope to return. Thank you, Max and Mireya!

A nice, affordable place for anyone flying through Juan santamaria airport. The couple who own the studio are very accommodating and clearly put effort into making guests comfortable.
