Hotel Rancha Azul

The two balconies became my favorite places to spend time. From there I could watch sunrise to sunset and see all kinds of wildlife. On my last night, I sat in the hammock and watched shooting stars. The room was comfortable, with beautiful flowers outside the window and birdsong all around. There are also plenty of shared spaces for eating or relaxing. I was traveling solo from the U.S. and wanted somewhere outside San Jose for nature and views. The quiet, birds, and stars were exactly what I was looking for. Doris and her family made me feel welcomed, safe, and cared for. Breakfast was excellent, with fresh fruit, eggs, rice, beans, and plantains, and delicious coffee. The location worked well for drives to volcanos, waterfalls, and Monte Verde. They can provide secure parking, and kindly gave me a ride to the airport. I’d recommend it for the nature, daytime activities, and cozy, home-like feel. I hope to return soon!

After spending 7 days in Santa Teresa, I returned to La Rancha Azul. It’s a peaceful spot with beautiful scenery. Doris, the owner, is kind and helpful, always offering suggestions for places to visit and things to do. She also asks about departure flights and checks what time they are.

Such a cozy, cute bed and breakfast. Doris was a delight and made me feel right at home during my stay 😍

The owners were very nice, and the view was good. It was okay for one night. Our room smelled strongly of air freshener and toilet chemicals. I wasn’t hungry, so I can’t comment on breakfast.
