Xandari Resort And Spa

The rooms are spacious and nice. Ours had two beds and a pullout couch. Housekeeping made the bed and cleaned the bathroom, though I wish they'd done more around the room. I really enjoyed the grounds at Xandari, especially the lovely trails and waterfalls. The property was kept very clean, with lots of workers looking after it. The pools and hot tubs were great, and we swam every day. The sunset pool was a particular favorite. Breakfast was tasty, with a Costa Rican option of rice and beans, plantains, eggs fried or scrambled, and a tortilla with potato. I asked about an omelette with vegetables and cheese, but it cost extra, which didn't sit well after paying so much for the resort. I also had to find the server each day to place my order, and the servers didn't seem very service oriented. Still, I appreciated staying at Xandari and was glad to get in some great hikes.

The waterfall trail was an easy, beautiful walk, and we really enjoyed it. There was gluten-free food at the restaurant too, with a view worth remembering. Everyone was so friendly. We arrived in Costa Rica after a 24-hour flight and stayed for less than a day to rest before heading to our next stop. The hotel, about twenty minutes from the airport, was the perfect way to begin the vacation, with an amazing view from a beautiful place. It quickly made the long journey feel like a tropical getaway. If you've got time to recharge, I strongly recommend staying here.

The spa was beautiful and relaxing, and I had a great facial. The pools were clean, especially the lovely sunset pool. There was so much to see around the hotel, including incredible waterfalls and art everywhere. Our room was fantastic, with a great view, a shower I loved, and a very comfortable bed and pillows. The front and back patios were great too. The check-in staff were friendly and let me arrive early. Breakfast at the restaurant was good, but dinner really disappointed me. The chicken one night was chewy, and the burger the next night was raw, so I didn't eat it. Dinner service was slow and inattentive. I'd stay again, but go elsewhere for dinner. Four stars, and thanks for some great memories!

Those three pools and hot tubs were a treat to rotate between, and I loved having the spa right there too. I booked a very reasonably priced three-hour treatment with Glorianna and enjoyed every minute. The food was another plus: the continental breakfast was fine, while lunch and dinner had lots of tasty choices and were beautifully presented. I spent two days and two nights at Xandari and I'm obsessed. The property is stunning, lush and green, with miles of trails and a few waterfalls. The views from the room and restaurant were lovely. My room was spacious and comfortable, with a great bed, shower, tub, and balcony. Every staff member was incredibly kind. Carla at reception was especially sweet, and the gentleman who drove me to the airport was chatty and helped me with my Spanish. Xandari was beautiful and serene, and worth every penny. I can't wait to come back!
