Victor was incredibly kind and hospitable, and the cozy rooms are surrounded by beautiful, well cared-for nature and wildlife. We had delicious Costa Rican food and great chocolate. An awesome stay, this place deserves a thousand more reviews.

Rincon Verde is a quiet, tucked-away place with a wonderful garden. The cabanas are basic, but very clean, with comfortable beds and firm mattresses. Breakfast was fresh, delicious, and plentiful, and we enjoyed dinner there too. Victor and his wife made us feel welcome and let us use their kitchen and fridge. Chocolate lovers should come here: Victor and his family make really good chocolate. I’d definitely recommend staying, especially since Rincon Verde is locally owned and run. Support the local business.

It’s a beautiful farm deep in the Bijagua forest. The drive is a bit far from the road, but Rincon Verde’s lush gardens are worth it. The cabins are comfortable, if a little dark, and breakfast is delicious. The family who owns the farm is exceptionally kind.

We couldn’t stay because the road was too rough for our car. We hadn’t realized you need four-wheel drive to get there. It’s winding and steep in places, and covered in rocks rather than gravel. We’re giving five stars because the owners understood completely and canceled our booking without charging us. We found another hotel for that night. It sounds like a wonderful place if you have the right car.

Google Maps sent us along a very rough road. The approach from the west via Camino Viejo el Pilón is much better. The rooms are simple but very comfortable, with hot water and nice porches. It was extraordinarily peaceful, the shared patio was great, and breakfast was lovely. The host was accommodating and served us breakfast at 5:30am before our early departure.
