Jungle all around, with monkeys in the trees and howling every day. I loved the sounds of it. The property has everything you need, and the internet was really stable and worked well. The staff were great and always helpful, staying in touch on WhatsApp. It’s an awesome location, just a five to eight minute walk from Playa Chiquita, which I think is the best beach in Costa Rica. I’d definitely recommend this place.

The open kitchen and seating area are right in the middle of nature, with monkeys and birds nearby, which was amazing. The houses are beautifully decorated, with care in every detail, and really comfortable. Such a lovely place for time with family or friends in the Caribbean. I couldn’t have asked for a better spot ❤️

Our family of ten, from teenagers to grandparents, agreed this was the most special trip we’d ever taken, thanks to Courtney’s care, enthusiasm, and guidance. She’s thoughtful about the property’s effect on the local community and nature, uses only local products, and makes improvements to help the monkeys and sloths. She’s thought through every detail, from the flowers greeting you to the unique furnishings, many hand-crafted by her or a local business. Everything is right where you need it. The booklet she put together has all the information you need to enjoy and manage the fun activities and whatever else comes your way.

The house at UpHouse was clean, warm, and inviting, and the hosts gave us a four-star experience. It’s a perfect location, a few minutes’ walk from amazing pizza, Spanish-fusion, and Italian food. You’re close to the main part of town, but far enough away to feel like you have the jungle to yourself, and the ocean is just a short hop away. Being surrounded by nature was wonderful. We’ll definitely go back and stay at UpHouse again.

We spent 12 nights at the Up! House for our 20th wedding anniversary, with our 12-year-old, and it turned into a beautiful, magical, transformative trip. It worked as both a slow-paced getaway and an adventurous trek, and exceeded every expectation. The garden was a lovely place for quiet family time, and we enjoyed cooking, trying different restaurants, and making use of the house as a base for exploring the south Caribbean’s landscape and culture. The rainforest is full of incredible animal life, yet dining, charming shops, and a gorgeous beach are all within a five-minute walk. The property has so many lovely, thoughtful touches, and the management were incredibly kind and attentive to detail. There are too many highlights to list. We’re already thinking about returning. Highest recommendation!
