The garden had lots of different birds, and the place was really calm. Staff gave us useful advice and insider tips on what to see nearby, how to make the most of our short time in La Fortuna, and which roads to take. Really nice service!

The breakfast was quite good, and the place is cheap, but I still wouldn't recommend it. The area smelled like chicken poop because there was a farm nearby. My room had such a strong smell of mold and some kind of chemicals that I couldn't stay in it. I got a refund, but not the full amount. Our group also had larger rooms, and they were poorer than we expected, with old food in the fridge and so on.

Hugo was super friendly and welcoming, and the rooms were great. It was lovely to have air conditioning. The hotel is in a nice area on the outskirts of La Fortuna, about a 20-minute walk into town. There's a little bakery five minutes away on foot, as well as a supermarket. The kitchen had enough for us to cook basic meals, which we did both nights. I'd highly recommend staying here.

The garden and pool behind the hotel made it such a relaxing place. Hugo was really kind and welcoming, and breakfast was delicious. La Fortuna is only a few minutes away.

We stayed just outside town, so it was peaceful, though only a short taxi ride into La Fortuna. The family hosting the lodge were warm and welcoming, and the place was in great condition. Breakfast was delicious too.
