The restaurant food was spectacular, the view there was amazing, the employees were top notch, and the Wi-Fi in my cabin worked incredibly well. I was only there for one night as a Camino de Costa Rica trekker, though, and being assigned cabin seven meant hauling my backpack all the way down and back up the next morning. It seemed like the more remote cabins should go to guests with cars. The cabin was cute and full of personality, but very cold inside at this time of year. At least the one I stayed in had no insulation. The fireplace worked, but it was deep, so its heat didn’t spread through the room. There were plenty of blankets. The downstairs bed felt old and uncomfortable, while the upstairs bedrooms were very basic, just a bed and an outlet. The shower never got hot, which was disappointing for $120.
The staff were amazing, and the cabins are really cute. It’s high in the mountains, so the weather is much cooler than in most other parts of Costa Rica. Breakfast and dinner were very good. I’d come back.
The views from these cabins are magnificent, and the packages come with excellent food. It’s a good place to meditate and explore, especially if you enjoy adventure.
Really nice spot, with a great foggy forest all around.
