The location was peaceful and convenient for everything. We had a rental car, but nearby restaurants and a supermarket were just a couple of minutes away on foot. The people running the place were down to earth, great, and always ready with helpful tips. We loved the morning coffee, the comfortable bed, and the very spacious bathroom.

I had a wonderful stay here during Holy Week in 2018, in the dry season. The owner and manager, both gentlemen from the Netherlands, were warm, candid, and down to earth. Michael helped us figure out things to do in the evenings and on unplanned days, and I felt like we could have been friends. Some rooms have an ocean view, and the water is a walkable mile away. There are also several good cafes and restaurants nearby. I enjoyed getting up early for wildlife: we saw and heard howlers, got close looks at white-faced monkeys, and especially loved the red-backed squirrel monkeys. If you're visiting Costa Rica with children, consider this place. It's not high-end luxury, but it has charm and checks off all the Costa Rica boxes.

The common kitchen is well equipped for cooking, though you have to buy your own food, and there is no breakfast service. The shared area by the kitchen is a nice place to hang out. The pool is nice too, and howler monkeys sometimes come around. Since the hotel is in a very touristy area, everything is within walking distance. My room was 8x8 with a king bed, and the bathroom was small, with an old concrete tub. It was clean, thankfully, but I expected a bigger room.

Michael was a funny, helpful, down-to-earth host. He suggested a mangrove tour where a couple of monkeys ate from our hands. We were lucky to see three different kinds of monkeys visit the property, and Michael even walked us to a sloth he'd spotted just outside. The property, including its large common area, and the views are truly beautiful. Loved the place, thanks Michael!

Just perfect. I stayed three nights with my parents and kids, and we had a wonderful time. The hotel is beautiful, the service was good and incredibly friendly, the food was nice, and the people lovely. Monkeys passed by too. What an amazing place!
