Las Cascadas The Falls

We had a lovely stay at this family-run hotel. The hosts were warm from the start, and a big thank you to them for arranging a cake and thoughtful gift for my son’s birthday. The grounds brought us visits from monkeys, macaws, and all kinds of beautiful birds. Our room and the pool were kept spotless. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, with generous portions, a few choices, fruit, hot drinks, juice, and water. The hotel has a lot of character and heart. The rooms feel a little dated and the lighting is quite dim, so fresher decor and brighter fixtures would help. If you want a personal touch and amazing wildlife sightings, we highly recommend it.

Our two small kids loved the pool, which was a great break from the heat. The onsite restaurant was convenient and delicious, and the included breakfast was great too. The staff were helpful and bilingual, and taxis to nearby places, including Manuel Antonio and the public beaches, were easy and affordable. We stayed eight days with our family of four, using Las Cascadas as a base for Manuel Antonio National Park, Rainmaker Park, the mangroves, and more. Wildlife around the hotel was amazing: daily scarlet macaws and toucans, plus frequent capuchin and squirrel monkeys, iguanas, leaf cutter ants, lizards, and frogs. It was very relaxing and family friendly. Highly recommended!

The monkeys were such a fun part of our week in the Treetop Dome, and we already can’t wait to come back to this beautiful place. There’s a climb up, of course, so come ready to hike and enjoy the outdoors. The staff were incredibly friendly and did everything they could to make sure we had what we needed. Prices felt more than fair, and the drinks and breakfast were delicious. Pura vida!

Our Toucan Room was huge, with a kitchen and a water feature. The grounds are so unique and cool, with lovely landscaping, flowers, waterfalls, and a pool. We also got to watch the beautiful maccaws nesting nearby and flying around. All the staff were amazing, especially Madelyn, who officiated our beach wedding. She put together a beautiful ceremony and made the day so memorable. Thank you!
