I spent ages in the hammock watching hummingbirds, with an incredible view right in front of me. The place was modern and spotless, and the Turin restaurant and its grounds nearby were superb. Such a lovely family base for exploring this beautiful part of the world.

We were a family of four in the larger home, and it suited us perfectly. Even in a heatwave, the shade and breezes kept things comfortable, with fans that were plenty for sleeping. The views are breathtaking, and the breakfasts cost extra but were delicious and well worth it. The owner was caring and kind, kept in touch before we arrived, and gave us tour suggestions we were really happy with. We loved staying at Alas and would recommend it to other families.

The family who runs Alas also has a restaurant down the road, and we thought the food was delicious. They were friendly and always quick to help. Breakfast is worth ordering too, they bring it to the rancho and set it out on the outdoor table. We stayed in the house in July with our family of five, and it made a great base for Monteverde and Santa Elena. The patio views were stunning, and inside was clean and comfortable. Coffee, wine, beer, and bottled water were available to buy, along with all the kitchen gear we needed.

Waking up to the mountain view was hard to beat. The tents were beautiful and cared for, and the owners were so kind and accommodating. The beds may have been the most comfortable of my 10 day trip. A distinctive stay that was still really comfortable.

The tents were spotless, and the shower was AMAZING. Each morning we saw tiny bee hummingbirds in the bushes, plus lizards, and even a Toucan one day. Great breakfast and a wonderful host, with the prettiest sunset we've seen. We had the most Incredible stay!
