The breakfast was included and so delicious that we looked forward to it every day: fresh watermelon juice, a bowl of wonderful fruit, then a choice of egg dishes or yogurt and granola. The location worked perfectly for getting to good sodas and attractions, and once we arrived we never drove more than 30 minutes to anywhere we wanted to go. Monteverde was our second stop in CR after La Fortuna, and after a three-hour drive we were glad to find the hotel entrance recently updated and quite modern. The reception was beautiful, and the staff were extremely kind and helpful. Management spoke English very well, though I enjoyed practicing my Spanish too. We visited off season, which I highly recommend because there were few tourists, and Calathea treated us especially well with an upgrade to the best room and a beautiful view. I really hope we can return someday.

The hosts were so nice. They even knocked on our door to let us know there was a sloth in the courtyard. We loved relaxing on the patio deck and taking in the views. Our rooms were very clean and updated, and breakfast was delicious with generous portions. They also suggested a restaurant a five-minute walk away with amazing sunset views. It’s close to the cloud forest too. Great little spot, totally recommend.

The rooms were spotless, the AC worked well, and the beds were comfortable. We appreciated having a fridge for our own drinks, so after a tiring day we could sit on the balcony with a glass of wine and unwind. Breakfast had tasty choices, which we ordered the night before to get ready for the next day. Mayco was kind and helpful, always around for our questions. One evening he let us know there was a sloth on the property, then stayed outside chatting with us and the other guests who came to see it. Town was a bit of a walk, but after 15 minutes on foot we found a fun dinner spot and a sunset view at Morphos. Thanks for a wonderful stay. If we come back, we’ll stop by to say hi!

The staff were friendly and knew their stuff, and the location was convenient, a short drive from downtown and most of Monteverde’s attractions. The hotel was clean and fresh, with a real ocean view from the middle of the mountains.

The view was amazing every night, and breakfast was excellent each day. Staff were wonderful and helpful. We had a car, though other guests used tour pickup services. The main road is close, so there was some noise, but it died down a lot at night. We’d stay here again.
