The house has everything you need, and the hosts even leave eggs and bread for you. Upstairs, the two bedrooms open onto a balcony overlooking the valley. We loved sitting there to watch birds and look at the stars. There are also two nature walks on the property, with lots of hummingbirds around.

The rain forest views and carefully kept gardens around Casa Mia are breathtaking, and the cabins are modern with attention to detail. Monte verde is a must when visiting costa Rica, with lots of nature and activities for everyone. Finding a place like this made our trip feel like a perfect retreat. Oscar and Juana live on site and are there to help with whatever you need, though we didn’t need much. This is a TEN out of TEN review! Thank you Oscar and Juana.

At night, we loved sitting on the raised patio, listening to the wind and watching fireflies. Hummingbirds zipped around during the day, and the location was beautiful and close to all the Monteverde attractions. It was very comfortable overall. Screens on the sliding glass doors would have helped keep the little flies out at dusk.

Juana and Oscar were great hosts, and we’d definitely come back for a longer stay. It’s a magical place, warm and full of wonderful amenities, with beautiful, comfortable spaces and fresh eggs. Between the hummingbirds, trails, and starry nights, it’s a paradise for photographers, birders, and anyone who loves nature. Superb!
