After the host replied, I want to clarify that this is our experience from mountain Faro. The room was only cleaned after we pointed out how dirty it was, and then had to be cleaned again the next day after we mentioned the damp sheets. The first room was okay, but the patio door wouldn't lock. The second was smaller, dusty, musty, and dirty, with about 15 ants across the floor. When we asked for it to be cleaned, they asked whether we wanted to leave instead of simply cleaning it. The shuttle bookings had been discussed and confirmed in good time, and we were waiting for the host to confirm because we thought they were booked for us. The delay came when the host changed what we'd agreed. The second transfer also wasn't hotel to hotel as promised. We asked for a lower price to cover the taxi we needed from the new drop-off to our hotel, but the host wouldn't agree. That same day, during a night tour, we spent a long time trying to sort it out through WhatsApp messages, voice notes, and a call. It remained unresolved, caused unnecessary stress, and left us without transport the next day. There were positives: the room was quite large and had AC, a fridge, and a private bathroom. I can see that many other guests enjoyed their stays, but this wasn't ours. I hope the family resolves these issues for future guests.

The staff were very kind and friendly, though only one family member spoke English well and another spoke a little. We enjoyed the nearby orchid tour and really liked Tiko’s cafe. Town was walkable for someone fairly active. The room itself was cramped, with a full-size bed and bunk beds, and it smelled like a sewer. I would have preferred a queen bed and somewhere to unpack, like a dresser, desk, or closet, instead of the bunk bed.

The bathroom was as good as what I've seen in top-brand hotels, which really surprised me. The room was small, but it impressed me too, and I'd love to come back. The teenager at the desk was professional, helpful, and knew his stuff. The lady manager was amazing and so caring and genuine that, over my two days there, I felt she'd become part of my family. I was the only guest that day, so she cooked breakfast for me and made me feel right at home.

The room was quite spacious and clean, and the bath was very good. In practice, the place felt more like a B&B, as its sign says. There wasn't the usual front desk service, and apart from breakfast time, the only space available to use was your room. Breakfast was the simplest I've had at a hotel, and the fruit quality wasn't good.

The host made us feel completely at ease. I usually worry I'm being a bother, but she was quick to answer questions, helped us book a last-minute tour, and even let us use her kitchen shortly before the front desk closed. When we slept through breakfast, she messaged to check on us and offered to wait and cook. She made fresh breakfast each morning, and when upstairs guests were loud after hours, she spoke to them right away and fixed the problem. Our room was cleaned every day, even when we stayed in and she came by to offer. It's a quiet neighborhood at the top of a steep hill, with lovely views from the street. Restaurants are a 7-10 minute walk downhill and the grocery store is about five minutes away. We loved the views, and the owner Lady was the sweetest. If you want an affordable place with a kind host who makes you feel at home, stay here.
