La Botella de Leche - Hostel

The staff are what really make this place. They helped us sort out excursions, and some even came along on our bar crawl. The rooms are clean, the kitchen is a nice spot to catch up with other guests, and the pool is great. Everything in town is walkable from here, but it's far enough from the noise. You can tell the owners and mangement care about the place and keep making improvements.

I felt at home as soon as I arrived at Botella de Leche. There's a lovely balance between relaxing by the pool under the palm trees and meeting people from all over the world. The space is clean and cozy, with a welcoming feel. It feels like a little community, not just a hostel. Leo🫶🏼, Facu🙌🏼 and Camila✨ deserve a special mention. Their kindness, good energy, and genuine care for every guest make people feel included and welcome. Thanks for the smiles, conversations, and unforgettable moments. My time in Tamarindo here was a highlight. I’m grateful for the people I met, the sunsets, and all the memories. If you're after somewhere warm, fun, and authentic, this is it. 💛

We left and booked somewhere else, and couldn't get a refund because cancellation had to be made 72 hours before the stay. The new place, house of nomad, cost about the same and was WAY better and cleaner. That's my honest opinion. Our room was dirty and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. The shower floor was discolored and moldy, and my girlfriend wore water shoes to shower. The lampshade had black mold on it, and we saw a couple of cockroaches on the floor. The community fridge had moldy food, and the kitchen wasn't clean at all. I grew up camping and don't need luxury, and I know this is a hostel. But for $500 for a private room, we shouldn't have had to put up with those conditions.

We liked it so much that we extended our stay by several days. The rooms and bathroom were super clean, and the staff were amazing and made me feel right at home. There's also a cute cafe attached, with great breakfast and ice cream. Facu was great. After I missed my bus, he was the reason I still made my flight and made sure I was taken care of. 10/10, absolutely loved this hostel!
