Seahorse Resort and Dive Center

The grounds are beautiful and carefully maintained, and the pool was fantastic. There’s even a shower to rinse off after the beach. The property is gated and felt safe, with plenty of included parking. Our room was very clean, comfortable and quiet, and had a TV, hangers, fridge, soap and pretty much all the basics. Check-in and checkout were easy. Bruno and Gaelle were attentive and wonderful hosts. Bruno shared lots of local recommendations and was available when we needed him. They serve breakfast every day and accommodated my vegan diet. There’s also an adorable, well-behaved dog who pops by sometimes. This was easily my favorite place I’ve stayed in Tamarindo. For the price, atmosphere and what’s included, it’s a bargain. I’d come back without hesitation.

Gaelle and Bruno were fantastic hosts, and I feel so lucky to have found Seahorse retreat. I’d booked somewhere else first, but that turned into a complete disaster, so I left the next morning as soon as I could. Seahorse retreat had just reopened on the 1st of June after the covid shut down. The place was beautiful, with a lovely pool well over 5ft deep, clean and nicely styled rooms, and a friendly resort dog. Each morning they made the breakfast I wanted and shared lots of good ideas for places to eat and things to see. Thanks so much for being lifesavers and for such a beautiful stay. Pura Vida!

Bruno, Gaelle and their two children were wonderful hosts, and Bruno seemed to know everything about the local beaches, restaurants and life in Costa Rica. They live behind landscaping at the back of the property, so help is close by when you need it, while you still have privacy to enjoy the resort and Pura Libra. We’ll definitely return. The resort is new, with a lovely layout around a large, clear turquoise pool that gets sun through the day. The rooms are stylish and have a fridge, A/C, ceiling fan, TV and safe. There’s also a bright, airy yoga room with mats and blocks. For a quiet evening in, the owners provide a US standard BBQ and a microwave for grilling meat or fish and having a bottle of wine. It’s a peaceful spot on the outskirts of Tamarindo, conveniently situated between Tamarindo, Playa Langusto, Playa Minas and Playa Conchal. The bustle, restaurants and noise of Tamarindo are only a short drive away.

I wish I could have stayed longer at this peaceful, beautiful place. It’s a gem for hospitality, and so well maintained. Away from the coast’s tourist noise, yet only a short drive from any of 16 beaches. I’m grateful I found it. Be sure to book one of the best massagebyArthur.
