Tamarindo Sunshine

The room had a comfortable, firm bed and appreciated AC in the warm weather. It came with lots of useful amenities like champagne glasses, a mini-fridge, and beach towels, though there was no TV for anyone who wants one. The beach was a two-minute walk away, and downtown was a two-minute drive or a 15-minute walk. Our balcony had two chairs, but it faced the path to other rooms, so we didn’t use it. We also had some privacy concerns in the shower: the windows looked toward a new building on the property, which fortunately wasn’t rented yet, and from the window we could see the balcony of a room above us. There were cracks in the shower wall where fake greenery had been added. Keep in mind that washing clothes or towels with laundry detergent in the room is prohibited. Construction for a new apartment building was underway just outside the lot during our stay. We didn’t hear much inside the room, so it wasn’t too bothersome, and the hosts told us about it when we arrived. We were happy with our three nights at Tamarindo Sunshine.

The hosts were very responsive and gave us helpful information right away. All the amenities worked great, and the place was thoroughly cleaned and well maintained. For just the two of us, the small space was enough for a beach getaway. We stayed in this cute little casa for the second half of our Costa Rica trip. Its best feature was the location, just a short hop to the beach and close to all the restaurants and convenience shopping we needed. If you’re staying in Tamarindo, I’d recommend it.

We loved how quiet the room was, even when I went into the bathroom, which has some open-air elements, and could hear howler monkeys going crazy outside. The beach was easy to reach, and we were grateful for the loaner chairs. Town was walkable too, with dinner, shopping, the gym, and more. Housekeeping did an excellent job. We also paid a very reasonable price for laundry, and it came back beautifully done. The common outdoor area was nice, with a large table that would work well for groups. Our room was beautiful, well decorated, and spacious, with a lovely balcony and comfortable chairs. The bed was the most comfortable I came across during our two weeks in Costa Rica. This was the best of the four hotels we stayed in, and we’d absolutely return to Tamarindo Sunshine.

The staff were super friendly, and the property was beautiful. The apartments had lots of amenities and supplies, and several restaurants and shops were an easy walk away. We’ll definitely come back!
