Roc Barlovento All Inclusive

The bar staff and everyone I met were awesome. Reception moved me to a ground floor room because the stairs weren’t safe. I’d recommend the jeep excursion and golfing, and Sunwing / Westjet were great, with on-time flights and good flight times to and from London. The hot water was a problem all week. I asked every day to have it fixed, but whenever I passed the room the maintenance people were on their phones and smoking. I never got a hot shower. They also turned off the wifi at midnight on the day you leave, which feels like being told you’re done and should leave, though I guess hotels do that.

A friend and I spent 7 days at Roc Barlovento and had a great time. The staff were helpful and really friendly. Livan, the Entertainment coordinator, did a great job keeping us active and busy.

The Roc is a smaller, nice resort, with lots of returning guests. Many of the staff have been there for years and are such happy, lovely people. The food is okay, but the location is great, with restaurants close by serving great meals, some better than home. See you again in march!

We stayed Dec 10 to Dec 17. The staff were magnificent, always smiling and friendly, and the hotel was very accommodating. We were on the 3rd floor, but they moved us to a ground floor room the next day after we asked so my 87 yr old mother wouldn’t have to use the stairs. Hot water came and went at different times of day. The food was okay, better on some days than others because of supply issues, though we had eggs most days. If you want high end food and drinks and to be pampered, Cuba may not be the place for you. For a relaxing trip where you can embrace the history, culture, and people, Cuba is fantastic.
