The rooms were spotless, but the mattresses could do with replacing. Breakfast was okay, though there was no yogurt, eggs, or fruit, just seven kinds of cakes and pastries. The hotel itself is fine but noisy. Wind blows the shutters open and shut because there are no hooks, making them bang against the wall or each other. We stayed five nights, and tour groups often made the hallways quite noisy. The route to the city center follows the main road, with plenty of exhaust fumes.

The hotel felt very different after our first night. We arrived late to a dim reception and got a third-floor room with no lift, which made for a rough first impression. By the next day, and especially during our later three-night stay in Mindelo, we saw its good points: friendly staff, air conditioning, a small fridge, hot water and a varied breakfast. The building is dated, and you can hear quite a bit through the walls. The center is about a ten-minute walk.

Breakfast is included, and you can walk to the center even though the hotel sits a little outside it. Highly recommend this place. They accept Visa cards.

We found this a good-value place to stay in Mindelo. Residencial Beleza is handy for the center and shops, and our room was clean and quiet. From the shared terrace there's a lovely bay view. Breakfast was simple but enough, and the staff were welcoming and helpful, though they didn't speak English.

For the price, it was good value. The room was plain, but the bed was decent and the bathroom worked fine, with hot water. Breakfast was basic too.
