I tried the meal of the day here twice, feijoada once and grilled chicken the other time. Both were nice and cost just 500. There are other menu choices too, all at affordable prices. I can recommend it.

This is already my third time eating here. The food is delicious, really affordable, and the service is great. Big compliments to the chefs. My only little comment is that the dishes could be presented a bit better, but that’s all.

Guides bring their clients here, and it seems to get more tourists than locals. The fish soup was good, though the serving was quite small. The prato do dia, frango gratinado com arroz e salada, cost 450 escudos, but was very small, not enough for one person, and not very tasty. Many dishes are made with frozen ingredients.

There aren’t many restaurants in Ribeira Grande, so we came here several times during our stay. The staff are friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. We tried other places in town, but this was our favorite. The food is good overall, and the chicken with goat cheese is really good!

I stayed one night at Cantinho da Amizade. The rooms are very simple, though fine by local standards, and the shower didn’t work very well. One night was okay, but I couldn’t have stayed longer. The host was amazing, and the food was among the best I had during a week of travel.
