Residencial Nova Cidade

We stopped here for lunch twice, so I can’t say what the rooms are like, though I imagine they’re fine. The shaded terrace has an ocean view, the toilets were very clean, and the staff were nice. There’s plenty to choose from on the menu, and the food was very good. Best restaurant by the ferry station.

It’s a good, clean place, but the staff always seem unhappy and angry. I usually prefer to leave positive comments, but today’s experience put me off. I tried to help by pointing out that the internet QR code had expired and needed updating. They argued and raised their voices instead of responding politely. The woman wearing glasses in particular seemed to hear things I hadn’t said while missing what I was trying to explain. The boss being away in Portugal shouldn’t be a reason for them to act foolishly. Check the pictures, because others seem to have had the same impression. 😡 😡

They don’t seem able to take fair criticism without snapping, especially the woman with glasses. She couldn’t hear what I was saying and just kept going on. The staff’s quality seems to depend on whether their boss is around.

The seared tuna, atun meio crudo, was fantastic!
