Renaissance Wind Creek Curacao Resort

Jianiska, the bartender, deserves a special thank you. She was friendly, attentive, and gave great recommendations. Every drink was just right and came with a smile. Eljan also went the extra mile and made sure we were well looked after throughout the stay. Their care made us feel valued and relaxed, and it's clear the resort takes pride in its hospitality. We had a wonderful time here and can't wait to return. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for thoughtful service and a memorable getaway.

The staff made the biggest impression on us. They greeted us warmly and went out of their way to make sure things were right. The rooms were spotless and beautifully designed, and breakfast with a view exceeded our expectations. The infinity pool overlooking the turquoise Caribbean Sea was a real highlight, especially for watching the sunset with a cocktail. The resort also feels well placed for exploring the island while still being tucked away enough to feel like a private retreat. We loved our stay and can't wait to come back.

The room was clean, but it had no windows and a glass panel facing a conference room, so it was noisy. Check-in took a long time, though I understood that staff were taking time to answer guests' questions properly. Service was very uneven. We were ignored for nearly an hour at the pool grill and bar, then left. Dinner service on the second night also felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming, especially seeing how other guests were treated. The stay turned around on day three, thanks to team members who clearly cared about guests. Roland, Miguel, Luiz, Luis, Stephen, Tyriq, Chantel, Bellsa, Rasean, Dunesca, Nassir, and Tahlia all went out of their way to make us feel welcome and valued. My friend and I were at Renaissance Wind Creek Curaçao Resort from 1/22-1/25 to celebrate my 52nd birthday. If management recognizes and follows the example these staff set, the resort could be outstanding.

We liked the resort's location and the housekeeping staff, the team at 5 O’clock Somewhere, especially Gili, the hotel Starbucks staff, the doormen, particularly the one with the gray beard, and the gym, which is awesome. Most front desk staff were also nice and present, but check-in day wasn't good. Usually there are several people up front, and I don't know why only one was available for a while that day. There were a few other problems. They tried to make things right by upgrading our room, giving us wine, and offering complimentary breakfast, though the breakfast wasn't good. The main issue was the late checkout charge. I had arranged to leave at 1 p.m. and waited in line to check out, but the staff member wasn't at the desk. The customer ahead of me said the woman had gone behind a door. When she came back, she continued helping that customer and seemed unhappy about whatever she was handling. By then it was well past 1. A man finally helped me. I checked the bill for extra charges, but once I got home I saw I'd been charged for leaving after 1 p.m. Not cool.
