Pavel was extremely kind and always did his best to help with everything. He practically runs the place on his own, so he's busy around the clock. Our room was spotless and well maintained. Breakfast was good, with something for everyone and fresh warm rolls always available. There was a different delicious homemade dessert every day.

Don't let appearances fool you, this is a really clean and tidy guesthouse in Abertamy, with spacious, very well-maintained rooms. The food is okay, but bear in mind what you're paying. At that price, it's more than good. Pavel runs the place practically on his own, and does it perfectly!

The food, especially the evening meals, is delicious. The hotel is quite old and badly needs renovation, though Pavel's personality makes up for a lot. He's friendly, helpful, and very accommodating. This place was originally built by a glove manufacturer for his wife, Rosa. The beds, especially the pillows, are unacceptable. Still, that merits 3 stars.

The breakfast is very generous, with vegetables, jam, cakes, bread, butter, cereal, yogurt, coffee, tea, milk, and cocoa. The owner also makes excellent dinners on site using fresh produce. You can arrange a particular meal with the owner if it's possible, for 150 kroner (about €6). This is a family-run hotel in a small mountain village in northwest Bohemia. It's not a palace, but it's comfortable and clean, and the owner is kinder and more helpful than anyone I've ever seen. I can wholeheartedly recommend it for unbeatable value for money.
