We ended up changing hotels that night and lost the reservation we'd already paid for, even though Hotels.com later handled things professionally and gave us a full refund. The whole situation was stressful, and the hotel's poor organization and lack of accountability left me with a very bad impression. I wouldn't recommend it. We'd booked and paid two months ahead, but on arrival the hotel couldn't find the reservation in its system. After more than 20 minutes of searching, they handed us a key. The room was occupied, on the third floor up a narrow staircase. Back at reception, they offered another room that was much smaller than the one we'd booked, saying it was the only one available.

The whole place has an old-fashioned feel, and the restaurant is especially lovely, with a pretty garden and outdoor tables. Breakfast was excellent, with lots of good options. Our two-bed room was cozy and very clean, and the people there were friendly and helpful. I'd happily stay again if I return to Český Krumlov.

We booked a room with a sauna, but the heating in it wasn't working, so they moved us to the royal suite and let us use the sauna facilities. The front desk staff were friendly, and the hotel is in a perfect spot. Breakfast had a good range of food and drinks for a hotel of this size. The one thing I'd add is a kettle and tea in the room. It was December in Český Krumlov and really cold outside.

The soundproofing was good, breakfast was pretty decent, and the location is great. There's private parking for €8/day. Still, the hotel doesn't really feel like a four-star place. Some interiors are worn, and the decor looks like it's from the 80s. The bathroom needs a curtain or something to make showering properly possible. There were also too few sockets by the bed, so I had to choose between charging my phone and using it for the bajoure.
