Hotel Slavie

I only stayed briefly, but slept really well and had a lovely breakfast. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from the train station, which makes it a great choice for a short visit. Highly recommend!

Clean, no-frills and a little worn, with nothing very modern about it. Still, this was probably the best-value hotel I've stayed at in the Bohemian region. Perfect for an east-west-east train stopover, and I'll come back next time.

On 23.06, I had never experienced such a rude, boorish attitude. We'd paid through booking, but when we arrived she asked for our documents and couldn't see the visa in the passport. She started speaking loudly and rudely to my friend and me. He told her she shouldn't talk to us that way and should put on glasses to look at the passport properly. She said she didn't care and kept arguing. Then she asked where I lived. I told her three times, but she still didn't hear me. It felt like we'd come into her home. She went on muttering in Czech and being rude, even though we were speaking German! Workers like that have no place in this job. We were in a bad mood all night. Never again, I won't set foot there.

The bed was comfortable and the shower was okay, though the used water drained poorly and left your feet sitting in a little pool. The location between the railway station and city center was perfect, and the staff were friendly and spoke several languages. The rooms were fine, but the curtains let in too much light, and street noise got a bit loud now and then.
