The restaurant and pub are only for hotel guests. The owner was very rude and arrogant. Avoid it.

At check-in and again in the restaurant, the gentleman came across as arrogant. Then a maid unlocked my door and walked into my room in the evening without knocking, and left without apologizing. The room wasn't great, and the TV didn't work. I don't understand why someone who clearly doesn't enjoy the job would run a hotel. Seeing sour faces first thing in the morning at breakfast isn't what you want. I don't recommend it.

We were told the total for two nights would be 2600, but that wasn't the final cost. There was also a municipal surcharge that hadn't been mentioned, and a bill item for the waiter bringing cutlery for the sausage and the drowned man. Another shock: the owner poured us a drink for 80 CZK, then didn't bring a replacement or remove it from the bill. And the rooms... I know one thing for sure, never again. A big disappointment, with a very arrogant gentleman.

For a similar price, you can find better accommodation around here. The hotel's three-star rating doesn't match reality: there was mold on the room wall, and the food, the blacksmith's bastion, was oversalted in all three portions we checked. Charging an extra 100 CZK for one night's stay when the hotel was two-thirds empty seems cheeky. The receipt's couvert was explained as a charge for cutlery, salt, and pepper, which made it seem like the owner was trying to rip off every guest. I'm not a complainer or a chronic negativist.
