Penzion U Námořníka

There's a nice swimming lake outside, a shared equipped kitchen, and lots of toys, a playground and a sandbox for children, though these are very neglected. The guesthouse is in a good spot for tourist destinations and is very nice, but several things aren't working well: the garden is neglected, hygiene supplies aren't restocked, the Wi-Fi doesn't work, and the beds are very uncomfortable and hard. It's a shame, since the place has so much potential for families with children.

The guesthouse is fenced, so outsiders won't disturb your privacy or your cars. It's within sight of Františkovy Lázně and only a short distance from Cheb. I found it by chance while travelling by motorcycle and stayed for two nights. The rooms are luxuriously equipped, more like a furnished apartment for a holiday. Families with children should feel at home here: several were staying during my visit, and there's plenty of space and things for kids to enjoy. There's also a beautiful natural pool for a refreshing swim, plus a shelter where adults can meet, grill, smoke, prepare different dishes, and have a party.

We stayed on weekdays during the off season and had the guesthouse to ourselves, so we could enjoy it at our own pace. The staff were helpful and the surroundings pleasant. There's enough equipment, the option to cook for yourself or grill, and activities for children. The outdoor playground could use some care, though I imagine it's livelier in season. We'd be happy to come back.

I've stayed here several times and recommend it as a good overnight stop on the way south or west. The host is friendly, and it's a quiet, safe place for a stay with children. The charming town of Františkovy Lázně is nearby if you have time and feel like stopping during your travels.
