We found this a great stop on our road trip from Czech Republic to Austria. It’s quiet, and self check-in made it easy to arrive spontaneously. Breakfast was really nice, and there’s a mini fridge in the room. It’s not luxurious, but has what you need for a night on the way. Pets are welcome, though there’s an extra charge.

The hotel is about a 15-minute drive from Krumlov, and parking seemed plentiful. We enjoyed breakfast, too. The location is lovely: open the windows in the morning and you can see the hills. The hotel lady didn’t speak English, but we managed to communicate with body language :)

The food is delicious, and you definitely won’t leave hungry. We loved Hotel Stará Škola, especially the friendly staff and beautiful surroundings, which make up for the furnishings that could use a face lift. The owners did a great job turning a school into a hotel.
