EA Hotel Elefant

We only noticed the key chains were missing after we got back. There were about 7-8 of them, worth 50 euro, and we'd bought them especially in Switzerland. Before leaving, we went to a shop with our things already packed in the hotel. Just one bag was left on the table with sweets and the chains. We had put the chains in our big suitcase, but couldn't find them when we reached Vienna. A cleaning lady had been in while we were out. Be careful with your belongings. We can't prove anything now.

The location is excellent and the rooms are good, but parking is awkward, especially if you have luggage. There's no air conditioning, which you need on hot days. Check-in, check-out, and breakfast all mean going to another hotel, which is rather inconvenient.

The room was quite clean and well located for walking around the city, and the staff were very nice and helpful. Still, for the price, I'd expect spa access to be included. The email should also clearly explain that check-in happens at the hotel next door.

We sat at the cafe in front of the hotel to watch people go by. The food wasn't too bad. Service felt like it does in many Czech places, not especially warm or friendly, and being a tourist can put you at a disadvantage. Once you get used to it, you end up brushing off the attitude as part of the culture.
