The best part of our stay was Lucie, the keeper / Provozovatel. She's an excellent host and an absolute gem, warm, kind, friendly, and always happy to stop for a little chat 😇 The house is historic, much like the town, and feels like the couple's personal project. They've carefully preserved its old sections while renovating it with the facilities you'd expect in a modern homestay. We had the best room in the place, thanks again to Lucien’s hospitality. It still has a centuries-old wooden structure that blends in with the newer parts, plus a small window looking onto the street. You're right in the center, with everything worth visiting within walking distance. The silver museum, for the mine tour, is next door, as are an amazing restaurant she recommended. The Jesuit College and beautiful cathedral are also close by. She arranged a town and church walking tour with a wonderful English-speaking guide, and another night tour of the gothic Sedlec Ossuary. We definitely recommend choosing Penzion U Hrádku.
