My room was only about two metres from the main entrance, and in summer I need to keep the windows open. Students and other guests coming back late can make quite a bit of noise. The room was around eight metres from the dumpster too, so lots of flies 😳 got inside.

For an academic visit to VSB in Ostrava, Hotel Garni is a great place to stay. My room was really spacious and clean. The breakfast selection was much better than it was on my previous stay.

The reception staff were helpful and polite, and breakfast was good, with a different selection each day. It’s a very nice hotel for events at IT4 Innovation, just a five-minute walk away. The rooms are large and have big showers.

Fine for an emergency overnight stay, but the services are very limited. The breakfast is basic, though the bed and bathroom were clean and comfortable.

The place was disgusting, with terrible rooms, beds, blankets, and pillows. Worst of all, they try to scam you when they return your deposit. They gave me dirty bed linen like the ones in the pictures below, then said I had to pay for it. When I told them it wasn’t me, they said I should have called the housekeeper and recorded everything. I said nobody had told me about that, and they replied that it was written somewhere. I’d rather live on the street than stay at this hotel.
