We pitched a tent and felt safe there. It’s a quiet, older-style campsite, with very clean facilities and really lovely staff. There are nice walks nearby, and it’s about a 10-minute walk to public transport, then roughly 20 minutes into town. We booked through the Campy app and there was a bit of confusion, but they sorted it out quickly on site. The bistro was closed during our visit, so I can’t comment on the food. I’d gladly come back, though it was a little pricey.

The campsite was well equipped, clean and quiet. We’d worried the airport might be noisy, but it was peaceful. Online check-in and the coded entrance gate were handy, and we liked having an electric hot plate in the kitchen. The one letdown was the shower water, which wasn’t very warm during the cold, rainy days.

There are some good walks around the lake and out to the rock formations at the far end. Since our last visit they’ve added a bistro tent, which is quite good for breakfast, evening drinks and food. The gates now have codes, so security has improved. There’s a tram stop about a 10-minute walk away along the footpath at the end of the lake. The site is lovely, with trees for shade and friendly, helpful staff. I used to like swimming in the lake, but it’s now been taken over by a dinosaur park, and there’s a lot of blue-green algae in the water anyway, so swimming wouldn’t be an option now. Still

The location is great, but the tent area is only a small part of the campsite and it was quite expensive. A large scout group was there during my one-night stay, and there was litter and food waste all over the camping area. That’s what spoiled it for me. I know people can have different experiences, but this was mine.

We spent five nights in the raised glamping huts with one adult and three teenagers, and found them really fun. The tram and metro are about a 10-minute walk away, with a direct trip into town. There’s a surprisingly nice forest behind the site. The facilities are basic, but fine.
