Hotel Victoria

It was a nice hotel in a friendly, non-scary town, about a 20-minute walk into Prague. Thanks.

The room and building access felt safe, and the property was small. It's near the train, with a grocery store and tram stop five minutes away. The air conditioning and Wi-Fi were good, and breakfast was good too. The bathroom was spacious but dated. The sofa bed was very hard and uncomfortable, and the pillows were very thin and soft. Down in the basement, poor ventilation and humidity made it smell damp and moldy. Reception and restaurant staff were exceptional, while the weekend staff were OK. The one issue we had was ordering food delivery. The driver couldn't reach us, didn't call, and couldn't get into the building.

The rooms are a decent size, but a good trip turned horrible because of what happened. While I was staying there, an unknown man entered my room and walked in. I yelled, and he immediately ran out. I went to tell the receptionist, but she said I was confused and tried to show me on the computer that my door had never been opened. I demanded another room, and she told me mine was secure. I asked for a refund for the rest of my stay and went to get my things. When I came back, I tested the door knob. The door opened without a code. As I gathered my belongings, the receptionist came to the room. I showed her the door opening without a code, and all she said was, “Oh!” I left soon afterward. It was simply an unpleasant experience.

We had a comfortable room with a little fridge, and the lobby was pleasant. The keypad entry was handy since there was no card or key to keep track of. Staff were friendly, and getting around was easy with public transport nearby. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants, and bars in the area. The windows let in quite a bit of noise, so in summer I’d choose a room with AC if you need it cool and quiet to sleep.
