Hotel Aladin

Be warned, I arrived at 21:00 after travelling all day, but the front desk had closed at 20:00. They wouldn’t let me stay and put me out on the street at 22:00 in freezing December weather. I had to wander around until I found another hotel that was taking guests, and I believe they kept my money. The staff turned me away in a pretty abusive manner. If you might arrive after 20:00, don’t waste your money booking here. There are plenty of other hotels and hostels in Prague that will honor your reservation.

My New Year’s stay, from Dec 31 - Jan 3, was stressful from beginning to end. I’ve travelled for business often and stayed in hundreds of hotels, and I’ve never had such poor conditions or been treated so unprofessionally. The room had blood stains on the linens, a broken chair, and a refrigerator that didn’t work. The bathroom and toilet were extremely dirty, with hair and dirt, and the toilet was broken and unhygienic to use. There was no soap or shower gel, despite those being advertised. Reception closes at 8 PM, which wasn’t disclosed when I booked, and communication was very difficult because the staff couldn’t speak English. They also refused to give my travel mate a second key without explaining why. Then a staff member came into my room without being invited, accused me of deliberately damaging it, and became confrontational. We felt unsafe. I was charged €339 plus additional fees, although the platform showed €315, and nobody explained the difference. What should have been a nice New Year’s vacation turned into an unpleasant experience. The property failed to meet basic standards for cleanliness, service, and professionalism. Save yourself the trouble and book elsewhere.

By far the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. One of the windows was missing, and the radiator barely worked while making noise all night. The room was extremely dirty, the pillow was uncomfortable, and the hair dryer clearly hadn’t been cleaned, as the photos showed. Those photos were of the very same room shown in the advertisement. Places like this give a tourist destination a bad reputation.

Ms. Dana at reception was so sweet and patient with all our requests, and she took care of everything we needed. The rooms were clean and pleasant, and breakfast was nice too. It ran out very quickly while our big group was eating, though, so we wished it had been refilled. Definitely worth the money.
