Just don’t.

I stayed for two months, and I’m not coming back. The room cost an outrageous amount, yet in winter it was only 16-17 degrees. The owner’s response was that he used to shower in cold water when he was young. The hot water didn’t work, or only worked in summer, though he later fixed it. His behavior was completely unacceptable. He accused me of bringing people to the guesthouse, though I barely knew anyone in Prague 😂. Then he scolded me for locking my room, and entered it while I was away even though it was already unlocked. I think I’m a fairly respectful person, but what happened at this accommodation was really extreme. I absolutely don’t recommend it. The only good thing is the guesthouse location :).

The owner is an older gentleman who offers decent accommodation and speaks good German. It’s all clean and tidy, and breakfast is included. The price is almost half of Prague’s, and although it’s no luxury hotel, I felt comfortable there. There’s a certain charm to the place, like a time capsule from the previous regime. It felt a bit like vacationing with my grandfather. The location is basically right next to the Czech TV station in the Kavčí Mountains, with a bus and then the metro to get anywhere.

The owner is a nice older gentleman, though a bit too attentive about cleanliness. Sometimes less really is more. The place is fine if you don’t mind the 90s, and the lack of a TV or room fridge wouldn’t bother me. But having the toilet in the shared hallway isn’t a good arrangement, and the hole under the bathroom ceiling means you can hear everything from the neighbors.
