Apart from this, I had no other problems. But when I tried to book again, the morning receptionist told me to get out and said he’d blacklisted me. He said it was his own decision, not a hostel rule, and refused to explain why. I asked for a specific reason, but he just kept saying he didn’t want me there. He takes things personally and emotionally, repeatedly telling me to leave. Not professional at all. The one previous time I checked out late because of a complicated situation, I paid the penalty. It was only that one time. The receptionist seemed offended and said he felt disrespected because I was late, even though he’d told me the checkout time. I apologized and paid.

The beds were incredibly uncomfortable, and construction work right outside our window started at 6 am. We asked to switch rooms or leave early with a refund for the nights we wouldn’t use, but the hotel wouldn’t compromise. We were really disappointed that the hostel offered no fair solution. Stay away!

It’s centrally located and relatively cheap, especially in low season. The building is old and there’s no elevator, but if you know central and (former) east Europe, you’ll feel at home.

We were there for four days, and the rooms looked nothing like the photos. Sunlight came straight through the curtains, and there was no privacy. The door to our hostel room wouldn’t lock, and we had to share with a guy who brought in people who weren’t staying there and threw a party. We got fined for being too loud because of that. I wouldn’t recommend this place. Find another hostel. We definitely won’t be back.

There was plenty of room, and the place wasn’t busy when I stayed. The lower bunks had curtains. The kitchen had a stovetop, fridge and cooking equipment, and there was decent gear for drying clothes, though no washing machine. The toilet was separate from the shower. I’d read complaints about noise, but I was on the second floor and didn’t have a problem, even though we were sleeping above a pub.
