Hotel Bedřiška Wellness Resort & Spa

This was the worst experience of all my visits to the Karkonosze area. Be careful what you book on booking.com: you may think you’re reserving a hotel room, then get sent to a building in the garden that has nothing to do with a four-star standard. The breakfast room is tiny and the choices are very limited. When it gets busy, it’s hard to get anything.

The receptionist was always ready to help, and the hotel was really quiet with a very comfortable bed. We stayed for a weekend; both dinner at the restaurant and the included breakfast were very good, with a good choice of wines.

The lack of a lobby was the biggest drawback for us. There’s nowhere to sit with friends, have a drink and play games in the evening, and the rooms are too tight for six people. Next time I choose this town, I’ll probably look for another hotel. Our room was in a building beside the main hotel, which wasn’t clear when booking. We had to cross the courtyard to reach the restaurant and wellness area. That wasn’t a major problem, and sometimes even a plus, since the main building smells of chlorine from the pool. One odd thing: during my six days of observations, the toilet was occupied by kitchen and restaurant staff whenever we wanted to use it during breakfast, or at least that’s what I suspect. Getting to the wellness area also means walking through the restaurant in a bathrobe. The location is good, and the Medvedin slope is a ten-minute walk away in ski gear. Rooms are four-star standard, and the Nespresso coffee was a nice touch in the morning. Breakfast was varied and tasty, but not every room gets the extended menu. I highly recommend choosing that option, since otherwise the food selection is limited.

We were kicked out of the dining room an hour and a half before closing. The service was bad, and the staff were rude. A very ill-mannered woman with red nails works in this restaurant. Terrible place, I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re on vacation with your kids and wife.
