The dinners were great, and it helped a lot that they were included in the price when we booked through the website. Pavel was also very helpful and quick to reply by email. There’s a large storage area for skis and boots, which is really useful for skiers. I’m a fairly demanding tourist, so my first impression was only moderate. Check-in was with a very friendly woman at a little desk in the hallway. The bed took up three quarters of the room, though we had a view toward the slopes and a nice balcony. It wasn’t very clean when we arrived: the shower was clogged, the desk was dirty, and there were spider webs by the ceiling. Staff were super friendly and quickly fixed most of those things. There’s a huge kids’ play area and even a cinema room, though I wish there’d been more people to socialize with. I could hear people walking in the corridor, so better doors or sound insulation would help. The table tennis table was folded away, and I really wanted to play, but there isn’t much room for it. The food was pretty good overall. Breakfast had limited variety, just hot dogs, scrambled eggs, and standard sandwiches.

You can head out hiking right from the hotel doorstep, and the location is extraordinary. The goulash from the kitchen was superb, breakfast was solid, and the coffee was great. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Our budget room was a bit vintage, and at 16 square meters, it felt small for three people with luggage.

The staff were a definite plus, as was the dining room view and the location right beside the hiking trail. People praise the breakfasts and room cleanliness, but the breakfast I had was average. The bathroom could have been cleaner, and there was an unpleasant smell in the room.

This family-run hotel in the woods made me fall in love with the Krkonoše mountains again, and I’ll definitely come back. It’s a peaceful spot surrounded by beautiful nature, away from the downtown crowd trying to look rich and famous. The building isn’t new, and the interior and exterior have that old socialism-era chic, but the spotless cleanliness, comfortable beds, breathtaking views, and friendly, helpful staff more than made up for it. It’s a great informal base for a family outdoor holiday if you care about budget and a welcoming atmosphere. The management clearly put a lot of effort into making guests happy, which pleasantly surprised me. Breakfasts and dinners were my favorites, easily the tastiest and best value in town. Great value for money.

There was a bar open in the evening and a lounge with a TV and table football. The location was great for hiking, the view from our room was beautiful, and breakfast was excellent. The staff were really friendly. The room could have been tidier, though: there was dust under the bed, and the sheets were in questionable condition.
