Pension Siesta

A peaceful, clean family guesthouse, with really good evening meals. The owners are lovely and welcoming. I’d highly recommend it.

We’ve been coming back to the Siesta guesthouse for several years, and since last summer we have a lovely new memory from here, our daughter Jituška. It works so well for families with children and for couples, too. Milena looks after guests at a very professional level. Pension Siesta is a lovely place to unwind, with clean, beautiful surroundings and excellent food. There’s something to choose from for everyone, whether vegetarian or a meat eater, and the owner’s whole family is friendly. We’ll definitely be back.

We’ve been returning to this guesthouse every winter for seven years to ski in the Hochficht area. The lift pass is good, and the skiing is high quality, better than what’s available in the Czech Republic. I’m a demanding customer and don’t revisit places that leave me dissatisfied, though I know people have different expectations. This guesthouse suits me very well. It’s cozy and clean, and the rooms and toilets are always carefully cleaned. The linen and towels smell fresh. I don’t mind that there’s no TV in the room. Noise between rooms can be a matter of debate, much like in an apartment block. If neighbors are inconsiderate, you can hear them going to their rooms or moving around in the hallway. In the six winters we’ve stayed here, we haven’t had excessive noise that would put me off. We tried the sauna and thought it was great. We were also very happy with the meals: a breakfast buffet with quality ingredients and plenty of options, followed by well-prepared dinners served fresh from the kitchen. There were no bought-in ready-made dishes, just homemade food, including dessert. We really liked what the owner cooked. It’s worth thinking through what the guesthouse offers. If you need things it doesn’t have, such as in-room TV, lunch, a pool, or an elevator, you’ll need to stay somewhere else. I can recommend this guesthouse.
