Campfires and night hikes were part of the fun, along with trail rides and riding lessons. My 14-year-old daughter had a great time at Witthof in May and was very taken with the team. She definitely wants to come back.

The owner keeps things under control without making a fuss, and there are lovely caregivers and horses of all sizes. Our granddaughter spent two days here as a day child and loved it. The long ride and walk were a great extra. It showed her that riding involves more than just riding. Best regards.

The staff were friendly and attentive, and the buffet was presented beautifully with everything we could want. We visited for breakfast in this charmingly decorated farm café, with a beer garden in a lovely rural setting.

The horses made a real impression on me. They were calm and composed, carried children of all ages obediently, and were easy to saddle and groom. They weren't irritable, but still seemed sensitive and level-headed. I came away sure that the horses and ponies at Witthof are well cared for. We also got to watch a Connemara being broken in, and Marion and the team were attentive to that horse's individual needs instead of rushing the process, as can unfortunately happen in equestrian sports. We came to Witthof from August 28th to September 2nd, 2022, with four teenage girls who had little or no riding experience. In six days they learned an incredible amount and went beyond what they'd expected of themselves. By the end they were all cantering, and some were riding independently. Liv, Greta, Annie and Christin gave us wonderful support, showed us everything, and were always there to answer questions. It's a small, family-run farm where you get a feel for everyday stable life, and there's always something to do or discover. Owner Tina Schöning tries to tailor the program to different groups and plan flexibly. It won't always suit everyone, especially with the horses' needs to consider, but the girls enjoyed the activities beyond riding too. Finding something for everyone was a challenge with children aged 8 to 18, plus my colleague and me as adults. Our rooms were clean and we were completely satisfied with them. They were even cleaned during our stay. The food was very child-friendly, but when we mentioned that to Tina, the next meal included spinach and salmon. Absolutely delicious! We'll be back. Witthof tries to make a perfect holiday, so you just need to share what you're hoping for. Thank you for such a wonderful time.
