Getting to the hotel through the covered walkway beside the train tracks was a fun surprise, and the Rhine views from the rooms were gorgeous. The windows kept out the rail noise. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well equipped with a mini fridge, hairdryer, and AC. The staff handled our booking expertly and took changes in stride. Everyone was professional, and the place is very well run. They seemed to have thought of everything to make guests comfortable, as they have for generations, though Andreas has taken the food to new heights. We had drinks on the deck overlooking the Rhine during the day. Dinner at Stübers was one of my top five meals in decades, alongside meals in New Zealand, Assisi in Italy, Kenya, and Istanbul. It was hard to describe. Even the salads were exquisite, and dessert came on a piece of slate! Breakfast was thoughtfully laid out, with several breads, cheeses, cold fruit, vegetables and meats, plus hot eggs, cereal, juices and all the usual extras. It all came with kind service and gentle music. I'd happily stay again and highly recommend it.

We weren't expecting much when we booked, but the hotel turned out to be lovely. Our host gave great service and even offered to help park the car properly. The room was warm and super cosy, a nice touch in the cold, and the beds were comfortable. Since it was off season and only two restaurants were open, the hotel arranged dinner for us. The town was nice, and staying somewhere so cosy made the visit feel even more special.

We heard about this hotel restaurant in a well-known travel guide, and I can see why it shouldn't be missed. The hotel was sold out for one of the three nights we wanted, so we arranged a day trip from Frankfurt to Bacharach instead and had dinner at the restaurant. My wife had long dreamed of seeing the Rhine, and we walked hand in hand along a lovely stretch of river, with rolling hills, greenery, and rock formations around us. A cruise ship passed in the distance. It felt peaceful and beautiful, and I couldn't imagine a better place that day. An elderly couple, apparently from Bacharach, asked us in German to take their photo, and of course we did. You can see much the same scenery from a table by the restaurant window. We arrived hungry, but the restaurant had closed. The waitress kindly said we could still order from the appetizer menu. We shared a bread basket, and each had miso soup made with shiitake mushroom and a glass of white wine. The soup was delicious, five stars, and the service was impeccable. We also shared an ice cream sundae, which was delicious too. Our day in Bacharach was spectacular, and the restaurant was the perfect finish. Before leaving town, we climbed the hill behind the restaurant for majestic views of Bacharach and the Rhine River valley. We'll definitely return. Don't miss the restaurant or those views!

This happened in October 2023, when my family and I had dinner here for my husband's birthday. We were having a good time until my meal arrived wrong. I'm vegetarian and had ordered vegan schnitzel, but the waiter accused me of changing my mind and wanting a regular meat schnitzel instead of apologizing for the mix-up. That made no sense. I waited for the food I'd originally ordered until everyone else had finished eating, which was fine by me. The problem came with the bill. They charged us for the other dish too, even though the waiter had said they'd have to throw it away and asked if he should leave it on the table. We hadn't asked for that extra dish, and we weren't going to pay for the waiter's mistake. The owner or manager came over but just repeated the waiter's version instead of apologizing for the misunderstanding that had spoiled what should have been a lovely evening. We spent a lot there, and the tip we were leaving was more than the extra dish cost. I don't understand why they assumed we'd lied on purpose. We were disappointed by how they handled it. I've worked in hospitality for years, and that wasn't a smart way to respond. It could have been fixed easily, especially since we'd been very nice and understanding about the mistake. Please don't ask Google to remove a true review just because you don't like it. I have the receipt and can prove we were there that night. I hope next time they find a better way to sort out this kind of problem and give customers the experience they expect from a restaurant like this.

The staff helped carry our luggage from the car park up to our room on the first floor, though the stairway was quite narrow. Parking was very tight, and our room faced the railway tracks, with trains running through the night.
