Residenz am Thermalbad

We’ve stayed three weeks in an apartment at Residenz am Thermalbad twice now, and have felt at home both times. Ours was on the ground floor, with a living room and sofa bed, a kitchen, a bathroom between the kitchen and bedroom, and a bedroom with two beds. It was roomy, bright, well equipped, clean, and quiet. Towels and linens were changed weekly, and cleaning was included in the price. We could keep our bicycles in the garage. The thermal baths are right next door, and it’s an easy walk to the town center. We’ll book here again when we next visit Bad Waldsee.

The apartment’s spacious layout and warm feel made for a really restful stay. It was comfortable, elegant, and furnished just right. We were lucky to have lovely autumn weather, and the green, peaceful neighborhood is also conveniently central. We’d be happy to return and recommend it to others. The treatments cover a wide range of traditional approaches, drawing on Western and Eastern wisdom, so it seems there could be something for everyone.

We’re already looking forward to another holiday with Ms. Zettler and her team. The apartment was beautifully and comfortably furnished, with a friendly welcome and attentive staff. It’s peaceful but still central, and the therapy services were a great addition to our stay.

A completely unwelcoming house, with an equally unwelcoming property manager. I absolutely wouldn’t recommend it. We’d booked the apartment six weeks ahead, including three mud packs and massages. But there was no reception on arrival, just an apartment door with office hours and a bell. We rang and waited five minutes. A sleepy, poorly dressed woman finally opened the door and said, “You’re too early!” She invited one of us to sit down and fill out the registration form, but didn’t know about the three treatment appointments. She said she’d put a note in the box by her front door. I asked for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and she wrote that down without comment. The note in the box later had just ONE APPOINTMENT FOR TUESDAY. When I asked about it during office hours, she said there were no treatments on Mondays. She should have told me that, and should just do the treatment herself! I also got a written appointment to pay for the treatment, Tuesday from 3:00 PM to 3:45 PM. Payment apparently wasn’t possible in the morning or on another day. That time didn’t work for me, though, so I was graciously allowed to pay around 5:00 PM. Arrival was only allowed on Saturdays, the owner took Sundays off, and departure had to be on Saturday. We also had to leave the apartment by 10:00 AM. The brochure lists a sauna, sun terrace, sunbathing lawn, medical care, and a relaxing Friday-Sunday weekend. Sunday is supposed to be a rest day. In reality, NONE of that! NOTHING! Paper is patient! I only saw the massage room being used once all week. It was always dark and, like the whole building, deserted. Our apartment was at the back, right beside the railway line, with only overgrown, unkempt hedges between it and the tracks.
