Hotel Belle Epoque Baden Baden

The room was amazing, and the staff were polite and attentive. The hotel is right in the centre of town. They don’t serve dinner here, only afternoon tea and breakfast. There’s food at their other hotel with a restaurant, Little Prince, but you need a reservation; we tried going without one and had no luck, so they suggested Rizzi instead. A brochure in the room told the history of Baden Baden. I was already impressed, but learning more made me feel part of something special. Still, the city has homeless people, and there were also victims of the holocaust. It gives you a sense of greatness while keeping you grounded in the reality of our times.

I left my jacket in a wardrobe by accident, and the hotel kept it for a week while I worked out how to have it shipped back to the USA. The staff were kind, attentive, and extremely helpful. The hotel and grounds are beautiful, and breakfast was perfect. I’ve never stayed in a better hotel!

As a woman in my early twenties traveling solo, I can’t recommend this place enough. The staff were so hospitable, the rooms lovely, and both breakfast and tea service were delightful.

We really enjoyed our stay, and the building itself is beautiful. We were upgraded to a deluxe suite in the main building, with a lovely view over the courtyard garden and trees on the distant hills. The room was clean, nicely decorated, and had what we needed. The man at reception was welcoming, helpful, and professional. Breakfast was the one real letdown. The outdoor tables were full, so we sat inside. Even with 45 minutes left before service ended, staff started clearing tables while we were the last guests still eating. The banging cupboard doors and dust being stirred up made us feel rushed, so we hurried through the rest of breakfast. I wondered if our presence was being ignored because of our race, since we seemed invisible to them. At this price, I expected better from a four-star hotel. Staff should be trained to treat guests respectfully whatever their country of origin or appearance.
