2/10
The rooms were okay, but my experience with the service was awful. At check-in I waited 18 minutes while the reception staff seemed occupied with other things. The man told another group there was a "website issue" but never explained the delay to me. After helping them, he left the desk, and I was alone until I rang the bell repeatedly. Being left waiting without any information felt like very poor service. The next day, a staff member confronted me about my review. She spoke only German even though I repeatedly said I didn't understand. I found that offensive and unprofessional. A colleague translated that they were angry about my rating and denied the wait and service failure. Rather than apologize, the hotel confronted me aggressively and dismissed the problem, while refusing basic communication in English or through a translator app. That response reinforced how little respect they showed guests. I will never stay here again.

The service was slow, which is why I'm giving it four stars. I only ate at the restaurant, though, and the food was pretty good. There are vegetarian options, and you can pay by card. If you visit, don't miss the amazing apple strudel.

The rooms are new, clean, and modern, and they're the good part of the place. The kitchen serves simple, typical German food. Service was slow, unfriendly, and bad. Wi-Fi is free, but you have to get the code at reception. We were already in our room and couldn't get it over the phone.

The atmosphere is lovely, with spacious rooms and a small village setting full of beautiful old architecture. Breakfast was a favorite, especially in the quaint breakfast rooms, and there's a nice patio when the weather is warm.

The beer garden out back is quaint and has live entertainment, and the first floor has fine dining. Breakfast is included in the room price and was very nice. Our room was large, with modern furnishings, air conditioning, and comfortable beds. The shower was the best I've ever had. Awesome hotel.
