Albertin Hotel

The hotel was a bit dirty, though for the price I expected that. What made the stay much worse was the woman at reception. While we were checking out she kept screaming at us for some reason, and seemed to have some sort of issue and not know what she was saying. I definitely wouldn’t return or recommend it.

Getting around was convenient since public transport is close, though it could get noisy at times. My room was okay, but much smaller than the listing suggested, and the shower water would sometimes turn cold unexpectedly or never warm up at all. The hostess also came across as unkind, almost hostile, when I checked in.

We were there as a family. The hotel was clean, but the facilities need repairs, and the water can be cold in the morning. Our room had no Wi-Fi, although the other two rooms did. I asked for gluten-free bread at breakfast and was told they couldn’t offer it, so I bought my own the day before. Still, the person handling the food was nice and prepared bread for me anyway :)

The apartment had a newly renovated bathroom, and there were supermarkets and restaurants in the neighborhood. The staff were friendly, and the location was convenient, very close to a tram station. Free parking was the biggest plus for us. For Berlin hotel prices, it’s good value, but the rooms need a makeover: the furniture was coming apart, and cleanliness needs attention.
