Hotel Pankow

I didn’t like this hotel. The room was cold; we turned all the radiators up to 5, but they stayed cold. The kettle was old, and I didn’t risk drinking water from it. One evening there was no hot water.

The rooms were okay, but the rest wasn’t. It was very hot and there’s no AC. I’d avoid the restaurant: I’m pretty sure the food was frozen, prepackaged stuff that had been heated up. It took the server forever to bring beer, and she seemed largely uninterested in giving good service. I wouldn’t come back.

For the price, it’s pretty decent. Staff were friendly and mostly provided what we needed, and the room was cleaned every day and kept clean. There’s no real air con, but they did provide a fan. The shower area is small, and there’s no refrigerator in the room, which was inconvenient. I skipped breakfast because there are nearby supermarkets where you can pick something up. Overall, pretty good. Laundry service is available for €20 each time.

The beds were VERY comfortable, and the hotel was simple but clean. Breakfast was good and affordable at 9 eur per person, with children eating free. Parking on site is limited and costs extra, but there are enough options in the neighborhood. The area itself isn’t anything special, though there’s a grocery store across the street and a well-stocked gas station for after-hours needs. A tram stop right outside makes getting into the city fairly quick. The street is noisy and there’s no air conditioning. We were there in April, but that could be a problem on hot summer nights.
