BIG Central City Apartment West Kurfurstendamm

We were ten people and booked the place for three nights. At first, everything seemed positive. It's hard to find accommodation for such a large group, and this apartment had plenty of room, with several bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large living room and a spacious kitchen. It isn't the newest place and is a little worn in spots, but at first it met our needs well. We also really liked the location, with lots of restaurants, bars and shops nearby, plus good public transport connections including S-Bahnhof Charlottenburg. Our experience changed completely on the second night. We found bedbugs in one of the bedrooms after several people had already been bitten. On closer inspection, there were clear signs the infestation hadn't started just recently. We informed the landlord right away. Instead of working with us on a solution, they told us to leave immediately, even though our group of ten hadn't found somewhere else to stay. Finding a suitable place at short notice is extremely difficult for a group that size. We wanted more understanding, support and responsibility. Instead, the problem was played down on the grounds that only one room was affected. In the end, we had to spend a lot of time and effort finding new accommodation and couldn't continue our stay as planned. The apartment has plenty of space and its size and location are a good fit for larger groups. But after our experience with bedbugs and the landlord's response, we can't recommend it without reservation right now. Anyone booking should make sure the bedbug infestation has been properly dealt with.
